1) Our Patrol Officers
are going to be stepping up bicycle enforcement.
Officers have seen criminal activity taking place
while on foot patrol by subjects riding bikes
here recently during nighttime hours. The fact
that the offenders are on bicycles makes it hard
for the officers to catch them. While the offender
flees they have no lighting systems which makes
it very easy for them to make off with the stolen
property and avoid detection by responding officers.
Officers will be enforcing lighted lights required
for all bicycles on the roadway which carries
a total fine of $90.00 to the offender. Please
make sure your bicycle is properly equipped before
riding after sunset to avoid being cited.
